Welcome to Clovis!

On behalf of the City of Clovis, we are glad you are here and we hope you take the opportunity to enjoy all that Clovis has to offer. Since Clovis was founded in 1912, community leaders have gone to great lengths to create a city which serves all residents, visitors, merchants, and business owners.

Due to our reputation as the safest city in the region as well as boasting one of the best school districts in the state of California, Clovis is the number one choice for young families. For many years, many young couples, eager to set down roots, select their first home in Clovis. And as those families age, they tend to stay put. So Clovis is home to people of all walks of life.

The City of Clovis is committed to supporting a thriving business community too. And it shows in our vibrant business community which includes a thriving and attractive retail environment with a diverse list of stores, shops and services – from national retailers to small and unique boutiques. And the restaurants? The well-rounded list of options is so long that a family can try a new place every week and not repeat for over four years!

Clovis has a long history of celebrating together too. Dating back to 1914, when the Clovis Rodeo was started, citizens have proven that they love outdoor family events. Today, Clovis hosts over 80 free outdoor events every year. These range from large scale celebrations like the Clovis Rodeo and Big Hat Days to more intimate events such as the annual Old Town Wine Walk or Craft Beer Crawl.

With all this, it’s no wonder that nerdwallet.com has ranked Clovis as the #1 City in California to raise a family. Twice!

Whether you are visiting for the first time, considering a move to Clovis, or exploring new things to do in your own home town, I extend a heartfelt WELCOME. We’re happy you are here.
