Memorial Day weekend and the first Friday of December are times of great excitement among residents and visitors to La Cañada Flintridge, as the community gathers to celebrate.
Maybe you have been one of the thousands who have enjoyed the Annual Fiesta Days and Memorial Weekend celebration in previous years. This four-day festival is the signature event for the city and is organized and sponsored by the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce and Community Association.
Prior to La Cañada Flintridge’s incorporation in 1976, several business leaders wanted to call attention to this wonderful area of the county so it was decided to celebrate our Spanish heritage with a Cinco de Mayo festival. Once La Cañada Flintridge was incorporated, Fiesta Days was moved to Memorial Day weekend so that the number of days increased and the number of activities expanded. Today the celebration honors both our veterans’ sacrifice and our Spanish heritage and is known for unequaled family fun, food, fireworks and a parade that draws thousands each year. Each December for the past 25 years, the coming of winter has also been celebrated. Its arrival is heralded with Festival in Lights, an event organized by the Chamber of Commerce. Eight tons of snow is trucked in to give added atmosphere to the arrival of Santa and his live reindeer. Santa is escorted into town by the Los Angeles County Fire and Sheriff’s Departments. Soon after he arrives, Santa flips a switch and illuminates the plethora of lights in Memorial Park and beyond.
In addition to the above signature events the LCF Chamber also provides for a weekly farmers market, monthly mixers for businesses and residents, a Business Expo with free admission, Golf Tournament, a movie premier: “Night on the Red Carpet,” ribbon cuttings and an Ambassador Program, together with three scholarship programs for our high school students.

Friday, May 24 – Casino Night at LCF Community Center
Saturday, May 25 – Farmers Market, Classic Car Show, French Toast Breakfast and Family Flick, Ralph Breaks the Internet in the park, under the stars.
Sunday, May 26 – Lanterman Museum Open House, BBQ dinner in the park, La Cañada High Jazz Band concert in the park, followed by a fireworks show accompanied by Souza music, sponsored by the Allen Lund Company.
Monday, May 27 – YMCA Fiesta Run, Memorial Service, Parade, “Afternoon in the Park,” and the
kick-off for the City of La Cañada Flintridge’s Music in the Park series.
