CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION: Collection of Christmas trees is the first two weeks in January. Residents should remove decorations from the tree and place the tree curbside on their regular scheduled trash pickup date. Weather may delay some pickups. Visit the village website for announcements of possible delays.
COMPOST CENTER: The Village of Mount Pleasant compost site is north of Highway 20 (Washington Ave.) at West Road and accepts yard waste, garden waste, leaves and brush. Proof of Mount Pleasant residency is required for use of the site. The site is open April through December (weather permitting) on Wednesday and Saturday. CURFEW: The Village of Mount Pleasant has a curfew for residents under the age of 18. No child shall loiter, idle or remain upon any street, alley or public place in the village between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following day.
DOG/CAT LICENSES: The Village of Mount Pleasant requires licensing of all dogs and cats by April 1 of each year. Proof of current rabies vaccination must be shown when applying for the license. Visit the village website for more information. Animals are not permitted to run at large in the village.
ELECTRONICS DISPOSAL: Electronics must be recycled properly to dispose of the harmful materials inside of them. Residents of Mount Pleasant should contact any of the following regarding electronics recycling:

GARBAGE/RECYCLING COLLECTION: The Village of Mount Pleasant contracts with Advanced Disposal for all garbage and recycling collection in the village. Notices regarding weather-related delays or adjusted pickup schedules are posted on the village website.
HAZARDOUS WASTE: The Village of Mount Pleasant, in conjunction with surrounding municipalities, hosts Household Hazardous Waste Collections days on select weekends throughout the year. Residents can dispose of a variety of items including fluorescent light bulbs, motor oil, cleaners and oil-based paint. HEALTH DEPARTMENT: Contact Central Racine County Health Department at (262) 898-4460 or www.crchd.com for information regarding immunizations, car seat inspections, lead prevention, radon testing and STD testing.
MEDICATION DISPOSAL: Unwanted or unused medications should not be flushed down the drain or thrown in the trash. There are several drop boxes in the area for proper disposal in addition to drop-off events held on certain days of the year. OPEN FIRES/LEAF BURNING: Residents of Mount Pleasant must obtain an open burn permit/notify the fire department before any burning or recreational bonfires. For additional regulations, visit the village website. To obtain a permit, call the fire non-emergency number at (262) 995-1209.
PARKING RESTRICTIONS: Mount Pleasant has parking restrictions on streets in the Lake Park and Lakeside neighborhoods. Parking in these areas is allowed on the odd-numbered side of the street on odd-numbered days and even numbered side of the street on even-numbered days.

SEWER BACKUP: To report a sewer backup, contact the Village of Mount Pleasant Sewer Utility Department during normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at (262) 664-7800. To report an after-hours, weekend or holiday sewer backup contact the City of Racine Wastewater Department at (262) 636-9181.
SNOW/ICE REMOVAL & SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE: Owners/occupants of any building or structure or unoccupied lot within the village must keep the sidewalk running along their lot free from snow and ice accumulation. Snow or ice may not be placed upon any street, alley, highway, road, sidewalk or cross walk. Sidewalks should be cleared no later than 10 a.m. daily.
SNOW EMERGENCIES: When the village declares a snow emergency, parking on the streets is prohibited until the emergency has expired. Snow emergencies are announced on the village website.
