Library

Think of the Rolling Meadows Library as “The University of YOU!”

You are the faculty and student. You decide the curriculum, and the library supports you with the world-class materials, informative programs and an experienced and helpful staff. The library offers programs to help you prepare for a job interview, write a better resume and get company information. Need to add some job skills? The library offers programs on Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The “faculty” at the library can help you get comfortable with using social media and organizing your electronic files and pictures.

Book discussion groups are a great place to enlighten others and perhaps hear a new point of view. Concerts, travel programs and history presentations will help fuel your enthusiasm to continue your quest for knowledge with the library’s collection of 190,000 items. And there is no stopping you when the library is closed; electronic reference products are available online 24/7 at www.rmlib.org.

Bring your children to story time, and give them a love of learning. Older kids will enjoy science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programming. If your kids interested in learning about other countries and cultures, try the Explorer’s Club. The library also offers programs to help children develop their computer programming skills.

Health Care

Rolling Meadows has always provided its residents and people in surrounding communities with excellent health care, while staying on top of the latest treatments. In 1995, the Rolling Meadows Chamber of Commerce and Northwest Community Hospital, took the initiative to form the partnership “Rolling Meadows Tomorrow.”

The program involved community residents, businesses and organizations who worked together to improve health and wellness care. Projects included children’s tobacco awareness and prevention planning, senior housing solutions, volunteer recognition, a family festival and community housing needs. Many of these initiatives are still in place today.

Northwest Community Hospital in nearby Arlington Heights, provides a Day Surgery Center, a Continuing Care Center, 24-hour treatment centers in surrounding communities, home health care services, several physicians’ office buildings, and a nationally recognized award-winning fitness center.
