Family Chiropractic & Sports Rehab was founded by Waukegan native, and Waukegan Chamber Board member, Dr. Michael J. Reed.

Stemming from a lifelong interest in natural health, Dr. Reed acquired two bachelor’s degrees; one in biology and microbiology from Western Illinois University and the other in life science. This is in addition to a doctorate in chiropractic and master’s in sports medicine and rehab from Logan College Chiropractic.

Dr. Reed treats a variety of ailments and injuries, as well as wellness patients ranging from newborns to professional athletes. He is also a certified EMT.

In addition to treating back and neck pain, Dr. Reed uses spinal decompression, manipulation, muscle myofascial release, and state-of-the-art physiotherapy modalities to treat conditions such as herniated discs, rib pain, pinched nerves, carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder tendonitis, tennis elbow, arch and foot pain and plantar fasciitis.

Pregnant women benefit from chiropractic visits to relieve stress to their bodies caused by weight gain associated with pregnancy. Regular visits can reduce pain in the lower back and between the shoulder blades as well as minimize, and in many cases eliminate, headaches and nausea.

Other conditions treated:

• Allergies, asthma, digestive disorders, headaches, osteoarthritis, sciatica and sprains and strains.

• Accident-, sports- and work-related injuries.
