Nebraska is one of the best places on earth to live, work and play. We have a growing economy that offers many career opportunities for young professionals, seasoned professionals and skilled workers. Just as importantly, Nebraska has an abundance of activities for families and individuals of all ages.

Nebraskans aren’t the type to rest on our laurels. We work hard and put significant resources towards making Nebraska a special place, and we will continue to make investments in creating more opportunities for those who make Nebraska their home.

While Nebraska is a pro-business state with a tremendous quality of life, it also has the unfortunate reputation of being a high tax state that is experiencing a workforce shortage.

The State Chamber’s long-range planning program, Vision Nebraska, has entered the execution phase of its life cycle. Using input from Chamber members and issue experts, we have identified some of the most pressing statewide challenges, as well as creative ways to address them through the use of programmatic and policy initiatives.

As with all initiatives, it is important to prioritize our efforts. The State Chamber will focus its long range efforts on four key pillars:

  • Business climate
  • Education and talent supply
  • Innovation and economic development
  • Infrastructure and growth

We will work with Chamber members, local chambers, the governor, the legislature and other key stakeholders to advance an agenda that focuses on creating well-paying careers, while retaining our employment base around the state. We will also focus on the cost of doing business.

State Chamber members are optimistic about their businesses and our state. We encourage you to participate in this unique process. Please contact us if we can help your business succeed, or if you have ideas to offer.
