Servicing over 1,000 members, our award-winning Chamber is one of the largest membership chambers in California. Under the outstanding leadership of our Board of Directors and our talented and dedicated staff, The Chamber is here to represent your interests and help your business grow and prosper in the region.

Our mission is to be the platform for business to provide leadership, education and advocacy so that the Long Beach area thrives in the 21st century. Our Chamber has risen in the ranks to become one of the premier chambers in California, having earned the President’s Circle Award from the California Chamber for five consecutive years! We are continually fighting for a pro-business agenda and reminding our local, state and federal legislators that the prosperity and vibrancy of our region is contingent upon a prosperous business environment.

The Chamber focuses on five primary areas: public policy, economic development, community development, member services and political action. We offer many value-added benefits and excellent programs to our members providing the best return on their investments. The Chamber is also well known for its special events including the State of the County Luncheon, California Visionaries Luncheons, the City National Bank Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Luncheon, Inaugural Gala, World Trade Week Luncheon, Golf Classic and Living Ethics Every Day Breakfast. These events provide our members with unparalleled opportunities and access to business and community leaders.

I invite you to become a member or get more involved if you are already a member. We are proud of the work we do and proud to represent your business interests here in our great city. Please visit our award-winning websites www.LBChamber.com and www.longbeachadvocacy.biz and take advantage of all the great resources we have to offer. Welcome from the Chairman

I am thrilled to serve as your Chairman and present to you this year’s Business Referral Guide.

We have the best any city can offer: a small town feel with big city amenities. Our neighborhoods give us a sense of community, but the diversity of our city connects us to the world. We have a world-class seaport and airport, a great beach, restaurants galore, first-class medical facilities and educational opportunities that do an outstanding job preparing our local future leaders while attracting students worldwide.

I have adopted “Uniting Voices for Jobs” as my theme for this year. This will set the tone for our efforts as we continue to strengthen the Long Beach regional business community. I will do what I can to identify opportunities to work with anyone who shares this common goal of putting our unemployed and underemployed residents back to work by reinforcing the businesses that support the underpinnings of our city’s economy.

I look at my mission as falling into three categories:

  • Continuing the economic development activities begun by my predecessors to bolster our local economy
  • Advancing the Chamber’s role in strategically influencing public policy that will allow businesses to thrive so that a vibrant economy is what provides for our residents — eliminating the need for burdensome social programs that are all too often sought through legislation
  • Supporting the ongoing efforts of the Chamber that provide a strong financial foundation for our organization and services for our member businesses

The Chamber has made great strides in adding value to our members. It seems with each Chamber event we reach new milestones in attendance and profitability. I believe the Chamber has a responsibility to make sure the community at large better understands and appreciates the crucial role that local industry sectors play in the economic well-being of our community.

It is also my honor to work with the tremendously talented Chamber staff, Board of Directors and our members to guide these efforts!
