Arts and Festivals in Ridgeland, Mississippi
Ridgeland’s Art, Wine & Wheels Weekend
With the showcase of three exciting events in one weekend, the City of Ridgeland created what it calls a “destination weekend” for travelers and locals to experience the area. The multiple activities over the three days provide visitors with every reason to plan longer stays to do more shopping and dining, and discover the excitement of Ridgeland.
Ridgeland Fine Arts Festival
The Ridgeland Fine Arts Festival provides an opportunity for artists from across the United States and festival goers and patrons from across the Southeast to meet, interact, enjoy and purchase fabulous art.
The festival takes place at the elegant Renaissance at Colony Park, a lifestyle center masterpiece for shopping, dining and entertainment inspired by the old-world beauty and grace of European and Mediterranean architecture.
Santé South Wine Festival
Fine art and fine wine come together with the collaboration of the Ridgeland Fine Arts Festival and Santé South Wine Festival.
Santé South Wine Festival is an international showcase of the world’s premier wines and affords a rare opportunity for the wine enthusiast to speak directly with the winemaker. Over the years, the festival has grown into the largest wine and culinary extravaganza in the state and is now a signature event for the greater capital city area, generating proceeds for the Alzheimer’s Association Mississippi Chapter.
Ridgeland One Behind the Other Tandem Rally
The One Behind the Other cycling rally is an opportunity for tandem cycling enthusiasts to discover Mississippi and Ridgeland. Riders from across the U.S. enjoy the boutique-style rally that attracts a maximum of 50 tandem teams. Routes include the Natchez Trace Parkway, Ridgeland’s multiuse trails and rural cycling excursions.
“Visitors love Ridgeland because there’s something here for everyone – young and young at heart, cyclists and spa-lovers, trendy and traditional,” said Mary Beth Wilkerson, executive director of the Ridgeland Tourism Commission. “We are fortunate to be home to so many outstanding expressions of the arts. Visitors can experience the visual and tangible at the Mississippi Craft Center and in many of our shops and boutiques; get a taste of the culinary arts around every corner at our great restaurants; performing arts at our incredible annual events; and merge all three for our Ridgeland Fine Arts Festival weekend, held annually in April,” she said.
