Annual Events in Waupon

Enjoyable experiences in a wide variety of venues await you in Waupun. The Chamber’s Annual Spring Expo offers patrons the opportunity to visit exhibitors offering a variety of products and services to refresh and renew their surroundings and themselves. Non-stop entertainment and great food make this event both fun and functional. The annual Golf Open, sponsored by the Chamber, brings business and community together for a day of play. The Avenue of Angels, the Chamber’s holiday gift to the community, is a four-day celebration of the spirit and meaning of the season. A holiday parade kicks off the event. Entertainment, visits with Santa, the Festival of Trees and lots of holiday treats make this a celestial seasonal experience.

Waupun Fine Arts provides cultural events to the community with various performances throughout the year. They also provide the community with “Concerts in the Park” each Thursday in July. Other community groups bring festivals, music and fun to the community. Garden walks, casino nights, dances and more offer fun things to do for every taste and age group.

The Truck-N-Show, held the second weekend in August, is a salute to the nation’s trucking industry and is also a charity fundraising event. The two-day event with family entertainment and contests for the truckers is highlighted by two spectacular parades. The “Lights of the Night” parade held on Friday is breathtaking. The “All Truck Parade’ held on Saturday delights young and old alike with an incredible review of the vehicles that keep America moving.

Volksfest takes place the second weekend in September. This ethnic festival has great food, superb entertainment and lots to enjoy. From the “cracking of the keg” to the Sunday ecumenical church service, Volksfest brings Waupun’s German heritage to life. It all takes place under the “big tent” in downtown Waupun.

Sports are also a part of the fun and excitement Waupun offers. Hockey, skating, softball, darts, horseshoes, golf and bowling are just some the sports adults and children can take part in. The city park district and individual groups have put together very fine venues for those who wish to challenge themselves while they are having fun. Players and spectators are always welcome to join in.
