Our downtown is the treasured center of this special place. In downtown residents and visitors alike can stroll tree-lined streets, enjoy dinner under twinkling lights, find a unique gift, a bottle of local wine or even a treat for your pet. Downtown is where the community comes to celebrate. We host over 45 events a year including a weekly Farmers’ Market that runs year-round from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Downtown is alluring, authentic and comfortable and we invite you to enjoy this beautiful place where every day can be a special occasion.

Downtown is the true gathering place for our community—it is where we come to celebrate Pleasanton. Downtown is where visitors can experience the best of our historic character, mixed with exciting shops and restaurants. Downtown is the host of Pleasanton’s special celebrations, from the Holiday Parade to Summer Concerts in the Park. Downtown has activities that span the calendar—antique fairs, classic car shows, music and street festivals are always drawing crowds of locals and tourists.

Every Saturday brings the Farmers’ Market to downtown. Fresh organic produce, fresh-cut flowers, breads and pastries, jams and cheeses are lovingly displayed for the customers who travel here from throughout the region.

Downtown is home to over 550 unique businesses, including restaurants, retail shops, salons, spas and business and personal services. In 1984, the City Council recognized this special business area with the creation of the Pleasanton Downtown Association (PDA). The PDA operates as an assessment district with the goal of developing and promoting a vibrant downtown community in partnership with business owners, property owners, the City of Pleasanton and many community volunteers.

The PDA coordinates over 45 special events each year to bring residents and visitors in downtown. These events include Concerts in the Park, Wine Stroll & Brew Crawls, 1st Wednesday Street Parties, Antique Fairs, Sizzling Saturdays, Earlier than the Bird and Magical Holiday Evening.

Downtown Pleasanton is alluring, authentic and comfortable. We invite you to rediscover the magic of this special place that is here for you every day.
