From retailers to restaurants, Flagstaff has it all. The Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce encourages residents to “Shop Local, Buy Chamber,” whether they are looking for a good local microbrew or shopping for a new outfit.
“The Chamber’s Shop Local initiative really has helped out small business,” said Cecily, owner of Toasted Owl Cafe. “Putting a spotlight on locally owned businesses from the Chamber is wonderful because the Chamber is a valuable resource to our success.”
Toasted Owl Cafe, with two locations in Flagstaff, features fabulous food combinations and quirky decor. Their menus include gluten-free and vegan options.
“The Toasted Owl cares about the community and we care about our customers,” Cecily said. “The community of Flagstaff has been a large part of our success, and we are so very happy and fortunate to have our ‘nest’ in this town.”
Whether you are looking for Italian, Greek, Thai or Latin-inspired cuisine, Flagstaff has restaurants to please every palate preference. Dining options such as Fat Olives Wood-Fired Pizzeria and Italian Kitchen, La Vetta Ristorante Italiano, Coco’s Bakery and Restaurant and Wildflower Bread Company all serve the freshest cuisine to loyal Flagstaff residents and visitors.
“Residents should dine locally because the dollars they spend stay in the local community,” Cecily said. “Small businesses are becoming harder and harder to maintain, and with spending locally, the business will continue to grow and prosper. Small business, to me, is the backbone of the community, and shopping local allows for the unique businesses to remain in Flagstaff.”
For the best steak around, dine at the Navajo-owned Zenith Steakhouse, the signature restaurant at the Twin Arrows Casino Resort.
“Zenith is the premier steakhouse in Northern Arizona and proudly features Navajo American beef, which is USDA prime grade certified, “ said Bryce Warren, general manager of Twin Arrows. “Zenith Steakhouse has enjoyed tremendous growth and fame these past years and was just recently featured on ‘Must Eats A-Z’ channel 12 Phoenix, as well as receiving OpenTable Diners’ Choice Award for 2018, scoring 5.0 out of 5.0 on guest satisfaction,” he added.
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey named Flagstaff a Leading Craft Beer City in February. A visit to Flagstaff quickly proves this title to be hard earned and well deserved. Lumberyard Brewery serves up local beers such as the Flagstaff IPA and Knotty Pine Pale Ale. Its sister brewery, Beaver Street Brewery, offers favorites like Red Rock Raspberry and Diamond Down Lager.
Visit any of Historic Brewing Company’s three locations to try mainstays like Undercover Cucumber and Piehole Porter. With two locations in Flagstaff, Mother Road Brewing Company serves up experimental cask conditioned beers and old favorites, such as Tower Station IPA. In nearby Williams, visit Grand Canyon Brewery to sample a seasonal brew like the Winter Bourbon Barrel Bomber or a year-round favorite like the Sunset Amber Ale.
