Location and Transportation


Located in DuPage County and just 23 miles from Chicago’s Loop, Glendale Heights is easily accessible from anywhere in the Chicagoland area. Six interstate highways serve the area with four main roadways located within the village – Army Trail Road and North Avenue (Route 64) travel east to west while Glen Ellyn Road and Bloomingdale Road run north and south. Within a mile of the village borders are also an interchange of Illinois Route 53/Interstate 290 and Interstate 355.

Additionally, three Metra commuter rail lines are found in neighboring communities offering a connection to downtown Chicago and all suburbs in between, as well as a link to Amtrak train services. Air travel is also convenient as O’Hare International Airport is just seven miles from Glendale Heights with Midway and the DuPage Airport also nearby.
