President’s Message

President’s Welcome

Welcome to the Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills (GLMV) area of Lake County, Illinois. Residents and visitors alike will find these vibrant villages among the best to live, work, shop, enjoy recreation and raise a family, with excellent public services, award-winning schools, great cultural activities and other fine amenities available year-round.

GLMV Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate more than 70 years of service to the business community. We are the largest and most active local business advocacy organization, and a resource for people to learn more about these four centrally located communities we serve.

Our Chamber services its members and community through numerous business advocacy programs, educational opportunities, marketing, networking, sponsorship, leadership and volunteer opportunities. GLMV Chamber-sponsored events showcase members and the area, with many opportunities to connect, learn and grow businesses.

GLMV programs and events include ribbon cuttings/grand opening events, After Hours mixers, Extreme Block Party Consumer EXPO & Taste, business showcases, annual golf outing, luncheons, annual installation & awards dinner, educational seminars, member discounts, networking events, and other activities.

Chamber events are held throughout the GLMV area at conveniently located member businesses. The Chamber also partners with villages, businesses and other groups and organizations who offer their own programs and activities.

Make sure to take advantage of all our bustling business community has to offer. Area shopping ranges from large national chains, Hawthorn Mall and the new Mellody Farms in Vernon Hills to small shops and boutiques in the quaint Libertyville and Mundelein downtown business districts. You’ll find whatever goods or services you need located right here in the GLMV!

GLMV offers plenty of dining opportunities for all, with a variety of cuisine including American, Asian, Chinese, Italian, Mexican and seafood. Restaurants in the GLMV tempt all kinds of tastes!

Area attractions and entertainment abound year-round with village festivals and special events, performing arts, ice skating, amusement center, bowling, community theater productions, golf courses, festivals, sporting events, forest preserves and more.

We hope you will refer to this community guide often to locate many wonderful area businesses. A business directory inside lists Chamber members who represent the many excellent local businesses. When you shop and support local, you help support the entire community and strengthen our local economy.

We look forward to continued success of our four communities and business sectors, and are pleased to serve as your community gateway.

Sincerely,
Scott Adams, President/CEO
