Blake Medical Center is a 383 bed, regional hospital and a Level II Trauma Center. We provide advanced emergency services such as comprehensive burn care, complex hand repair and microvascular surgery.
The Structural Heart Institute at Blake Medical Center is proud to offer innovative services, such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for those considered high risk for traditional valve replacement, and the Watchman Left Atrial Appendage Closure Implant that offers an alternative to patients taking Warfarin on a long-term basis. Centerstone
Centerstone has been a leading specialty hospital and outpatient practice in the region for more than 60 years. Centerstone provides one out of 30 families in the community with services that include behavioral health, addiction rehabilitation and intensive recovery services.
The Centerstone Employee Assistance Program provides crisis intervention, assessment and treatment services to participating companies’ workers and their dependents. Centerstone partnered with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) to create the LECOM/Centerstone Hospital Psychiatry Residency program. This has assisted in recruiting physicians to the area. Whether it’s a major life change, anxiety, emotional issues, trauma, substance use or other behavioral health concerns, Centerstone offers hope and healing to children, teens and adults through delivering care that changes people’s lives.
Department of Health-Manatee County
The mission of the Department of Health-Manatee County (DOH-Manatee) is to promote, protect and improve the health of area residents of all ages.
Beginning with pregnancy and infanthood, the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) program offers nutrition education and support. Services such as immunizations and school-based education activities are provided for the childhood years. For adolescents, DOH-Manatee features services such as physicals, education, testing and treatment related to reproductive health needs; it also engages teens in avoiding tobacco use. Adults have access to information on preventing chronic and infectious diseases, cancer screenings and medication assistance for those with limited resources and travel immunizations.
DOH-Manatee also helps promote healthy eating and active living through initiatives such as Workplace Wellness and Healthiest Weight. Environmental health provides services such as beach water sampling; vital statistics dispenses birth and death certificates; disease control conducts surveillance of transmission of illnesses to prevent outbreaks; and the Preparedness and Response program restores the health and medical infrastructure of the community after emergencies.
MCR Health
MCR Health is a private, non-profit medical group providing healthcare to the citizens of Manatee County for more than 40 years. With more than 25 healthcare centers, two mobile units, 11 pharmacies, and six admin sites, MCR Health is the largest, most diversified, Federally Qualified Health Center in the southeastern United States. Its geographical coverage now includes Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto Counties, but it also provide behavioral health services in 150 skilled nursing facilities throughout the state of Florida.
MCR Health has four core medical concentrations-family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology. Other services provided include-dentistry, optometry, podiatry, behavioral health, infectious disease, general surgery, dermatology, cardiology, pharmacy, diabetic education, pulmonology, and orthopedics.

Manatee Healthcare System
The Manatee Healthcare System comprises two hospitals: Manatee Memorial Hospital and Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. Beyond the hospital campuses, the System operates Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Center and Manatee Diagnostic Center, a freestanding outpatient imaging center with four locations. The Manatee Healthcare System is also affiliated with more than 13 freestanding primary care, urgent care and specialty clinics under the Manatee Physician Alliance. Lakewood Ranch Medical Center
Lakewood Ranch Medical Center provides the community with a 24/7 emergency department (ER) that is fully prepared to treat children of all ages as well as adults. Its ER team is highly experienced in managing health emergencies, including heart attack and stroke. The hospital is an accredited Chest Pain Center with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and provides a range of cardiovascular services. Our Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center offers quality treatment for stroke patients as well as stroke prevention, intervention, rehabilitation and education and is Joint Commission-certified as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
Fellowship-trained surgeons and orthopedic physicians at the hospital’s Orthopaedic Spine and Joint Center work alongside specially trained nurses and physical therapists to give patients collaborative orthopaedic care. The Women and Children’s Center provides obstetrics and childbirth services in a private, comfortable, family friendly and secure environment. The center offers a variety of childbirth and family focused education programs as well as support groups. Women recovering from gynecological, urological and plastic surgery are also cared for post-operatively in the center.
The hospital’s Breast Health Center offers HD 3D mammography and 3D guided prone breast biopsy as well as comprehensive care from genetic testing to advanced imaging options and diagnostic procedures.
Other hospital services include a Sleep Center, Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine, respiratory therapy, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging as well as physical therapy.
Manatee Memorial Hospital
Manatee Memorial Hospital has served the residents of Manatee County for over 65 years. The hospital is a proud platinum member of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce with more than 550 physicians, residents and allied health professionals and over 1,500 employees.
Medical services the hospital provides include: around the clock emergency services for all ages, cardiac care/cardiovascular medicine, surgery services, including robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System, weight-loss services, orthopedic services, outpatient and inpatient radiology and rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep and oncology, wound care and women’s services including a Breast Care Center with HD 3D Mammography featuring the new SmartCurve™ breast stabilization system and children’s care, including the county’s only Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
In December 2018, the hospital opened a new Emergency Care Center to accommodate the county’s growing population. This 32,000 square feet center is the largest and newest ER in the county. The space has 48 patient rooms and some of its features include: a spacious and welcoming waiting room; color-coded pods to help people find their way around more easily; geriatric-friendly accommodations; Smart TVs in patient rooms and a dedicated Emergency Medical Services covered drive access with three staging and support areas for emergency vehicles.
Manatee Memorial Hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and Resuscitation from American College of Cardiology and received the Mission Lifeline Gold Achievement, American Heart Association, 2018, fourth year in a row. Its Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center has received the Get With the Guidelines — Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement, American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, 2018, ten years in a row; Target: Stroke Elite Honor Roll, American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for the second year and received the Advanced Primary Stroke Center Certification from The Joint Commission.
Suncoast Behavioral Health Center
Suncoast Behavioral Health Center is a private, acute inpatient psychiatric facility designed to provide quality services to children, adolescents and adults in a supportive, healing environment. Patients participate in a variety of therapeutic activities that include a psychiatric evaluation, medication management, physical examination, psychoeducational group therapy, family therapy (as needed), health and nutrition education, activity/recreational therapy, and individualized discharge and aftercare planning.
Bay Pines VA Health Care System
Administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Bay Pines system has been assisting those who have served their country since 1933. The main hospital campus in Bay Pines has 153 acute care beds and 33 acute inpatient psychiatry beds.
The outpatient facility in Bradenton is handicapped accessible. It features many services, including audiology, primary care, mental health care, women’s health care, referrals to specialty care at Bay Pines VA Medical Center, dental, EKG services, eye care, imaging (ultrasound and X-ray), phlebotomy (blood draws and specimen collection), pharmacist consultation and social work.
