The Outer Banks Hospital (OBH) is a full service, community hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, with excellence in orthopedic, ear nose and throat care, OB/GYN, cancer care and general surgery.

When those who experience financial difficulty have medical needs, the Community Care Clinic of Dare offers quality treatment at no cost. The clinic boasts two locations—one in Nags Head and another in Frisco—ensuring that all patients receive basic health care.
The professional and friendly staff and volunteers of doctors and nurses provide nonemergency medical treatment, health education and promotion, prescription assistance and more. For those who don’t speak English, a Spanish interpreter is available on-site for those who need assistance.
Dare County Department of Health & Human Services
Dare County Department of Health & Human Services is committed to meeting the evolving health and social needs of the community. The public health division has many units that provide medical services to the community.
The clinical services unit provides a wide range of services, including prenatal care management, maternal health, family planning, care coordination for children, newborn and post-partum assessments like breastfeeding support, child health, nutrition services and immunizations. The department’s school nurses provide screening, evaluation, treatment, health education and case management for students with a chronic disease in Dare County Schools. The Miles of Smiles mobile children’s dental clinic serves Dare and Hyde counties through a rotating schedule.
Dare Home Health is a Medicare certified agency, which provides in-home services for patients experiencing a medical challenge and teaches patients and families to function as independently as possible.
