Anderson Hospital has been making a difference in the health care of Madison County residents since 1977. An independent, nonprofit hospital, Anderson is dedicated to creating a health care setting in which quality of life and service excellence are experienced by the hospital’s patients, their families, the medical staff and the community. The 154-bed acute care facility is technology driven, offering patients cutting-edge diagnostic capabilities not often found in a community setting. Anderson Hospital’s quality services are evident by its accreditations, certifications and designations that endorse the facility’s expertise.

Anderson Hospital offers a full range of advanced health care services, from a state-of-the-art obstetrics unit – the Pavilion for Women – to emergency services that treated more than 33,000 people last year.

More than 200 physicians work with Anderson Hospital to meet the medical needs of its communities. These talented physicians constitute Anderson’s medical staff and cover more than 40 medical specialties.

The hospital’s patient volumes continue to reflect the growth and strength of the communities it serves, as well as the quality of its medical staff and hospital employees.

Gateway Regional Medical Center, based in Granite City, continues its mission to steadily build a strong care network to support the Metro East community. Serving the Madison County and surrounding region, the 338-bed facility offers a wide range of medical specialties from primary care to orthopedics and women’s services.

Gateway’s network is made up of outreach facilities including primary care offices, orthopedic services, podiatry services, wound care, imaging center and two urgent care locations. And with more than 150 active medical staff members and over 900 employees, the medial center’s zealously committed to seeing patients within 30 minutes of their noted arrival at its Emergency Department.

Of course, Gateway long has taken pride in its perennially strong orthopedic program with the Doctors of Illinois Southwest Orthopedics leading its Bone & Joint Center. Patient satisfaction there soars, scoring in the 95th percentile nationwide for total knee and hip replacement. The medical center also recently received the Joint Commission’s chest pain certification.

In addition to its aforementioned specialties and services, the facility – the only Illinois hospital nationally recognized for the fifth consecutive year by the Joint Commission for achieving excellence on performance of key quality measures – offers a host of other programs. Among them is its one-of-a-kind in the state new Diabetic Limb Preservation program. The process is minimally invasive and stimulates blood flow back to diabetic feet to promote healing, enabling diabetic patients to manage their condition along with other risk factors to improve their overall health and well being.

The proper treatment of wounds and management of chronic health conditions means the prevention of additional wounds and enhanced quality of life.
