Economic Development

From small entrepreneurial ventures to Fortune 500 satellite plants, Allen County is home to an array of diverse manufacturing, health care, chemical treatment and food processing companies.

The team at Allen Economic Development Group (AEDG) works with new and existing companies needing assistance with land and building development, financing, infrastructure and workforce development.

AEDG has partnerships with local and state officials to ensure businesses throughout Allen County receive the type and amount of support needed to take them from the planning stages to future expansions.

A skilled workforce, available land, utilities and a friendly tax environment have created a prosperous environment for business and industry throughout the area. In 2019, the AEDG activity included its 100, 20/20 plus 10 strategy. What does that mean? AEDG staff met with representatives from 100 companies to discuss development projects while also working on attraction projects, financial assistance plans and establishment of Energy and Enterprise districts.

What were the results? AEDG was in discussions with existing companies that completed over $300 million in capital investment and created 500 jobs in 2019. That is proof that Allen County is a great place to do business.

AEDG is open to working with prospective and existing businesses. For more information about AEDG and available services, visit www.aedg.org.
