Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District

The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District serves more than 13,500 students from transitional kindergarten through the 12th grade. The district’s commitment to students is highlighted by its mission statement: “Each student will graduate with the skills needed to contribute and thrive in a changing world.”

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kelly Bowers believes in the possibilities of education to change lives and ultimately, change the world. In Livermore, hands-on learning opportunities create relevance in science, technology, engineering and math. In addition, International Baccalaureate and Dual Immersion programs highlight the district’s commitment to equity and global citizenship. World-class visual and performing arts programs develop well-rounded cultural competence. Opportunities to compete in a wide variety of sports foster values of teamwork and lifelong wellness.

The award-winning district is the fourth largest employer in Livermore. The district operates 18 school sites including nine elementary schools, two K-8 schools, three middle schools, two comprehensive high schools and two alternative schools. Students at all schools enjoy the benefits of robust and dynamic partnerships with local community organizations including the two national laboratories, local arts and education foundations and many generous local businesses.
