Fire
The South Shore Fire & EMS Department is a consolidation of the Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant Fire Departments. These two departments were combined to stabilize response times, training and operational efficiencies for both villages.
The department staffs three fire station locations in the area. They are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year; and are equipped to respond to fires, hazardous events and medical emergencies.

Police
The Mount Pleasant Police Department is located on the grounds of the Mount Pleasant Civic Campus and handles an average of 30,000 calls for service annually. The Police Department works to build cooperative relationships with citizens and businesses to make Mount Pleasant a safe place to live, work and visit.
The department is committed to preserving peace, order and safety, while enforcing laws and ordinances. The Lakeside COP House provides a welcoming setting for residents to interact with officers; providing residents with an opportunity to address quality of life concerns and to keep their pulse on crime trends affecting the community.
