Recreation and Culture


The City of Palmdale offers a wide variety of recreational activities and facilities throughout the city for all ages ranging from adult and youth sports to ballet classes and Fitness Flex & Stretch for seniors. The city continues to provide services, facilities and events that appeal to its diverse population.

Palmdale features 364.4 acres of developed park land including 15 community and neighborhood parks and four specialty areas. The city’s parks include 21 lighted and unlighted soccer fields, five lighted tennis courts, eight lighted basketball courts, 12 lighted softball fields, five volleyball courts, two skate parks and numerous playfields and playground areas. The city also offers residents and visitors 28.9 miles of hiking and biking trails throughout Palmdale.

The parks and recreation facilities include four outdoor swimming pools, two recreation centers, two skate parks, the Best of the West Softball Complex, the Palmdale Amphitheater, DryTown Water Park, The Palmdale Playhouse, Joe Davies Airpark, the Larry Chimbole Cultural Center, Legacy Commons for Active Seniors and the Palmdale City Library.
