West Texas MX park is a red dirt track with many challenging sections for both big and small bikes. With the red dirt and sand mix and loamy sections, a lot of local riders pick the Dunlop MX32 for a tire choice. A built-in sprinkler system ensures just the right amount of water on the ground. Practice is held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Gates open at 8 a.m. and admission is $20 per rider.

One of Midland’s premiere planning resources managed by VisitMidland is the VisitMidland Sports and Entertainment Granting Authority. The granting authority is funded entirely from hotel/motel tax revenue received by the city. As such, the program is completely self-sustaining, with no tax revenue coming from the local citizen base. In the last fiscal year, 17 events received grants, generating a total Estimated Economic Impact of $6,137,765. This yielded a $34.63 return on investment.*
