Explore the majestic city nestled along the Wisconsin River, which meanders through serene woodlands and gently rolling farmland. Popular for fishing, boating and hiking, it is an exquisite setting for all to enjoy. The Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company is our unique water conservation-regulation organization responsible for maintaining the public trust in the stewardship of the Wisconsin River Reservoir System. Discover the great outdoors right here at one of our area parks. One of the many parks to visit, River Park, offers picnic facilities, nature walks and boat landings. Enjoy our Little Bull Falls Logjam~Woodsman 5K Walk/Run every August at River Park. Chuck’s Boat Landing provides two boat landing areas along the Wisconsin River, just below the Mosinee Dam, a public access point to that section of the river. Canoe Portage Park, located off of River Road on the east side of the river, has a canoe portage, a small boat landing and excellent access to the river and the 1,377-acre Mosinee Flowage.
Our Mosinee area hosts various sporting and festival events. Our Wisconsin Riverwoods Trail, a 10-foot-wide multi-use asphalt trail located along the west side of the Wisconsin River in the downtown area, welcomes the outdoor enthusiast or casual walker. Pedestrians and bicyclists can travel the 2,220-foot-long trail from Chuck’s Boat landing north to Main Street, Mosinee. Also, visit the access trail from the east side of 3rd Street, between High and Jackson streets. The access trail has a 12-inch-wide elevated timber boardwalk with two river overlook areas.
Fall and winter fun arrives in the Mosinee area with crisscrossed miles and miles of hiking trails, snowmobile trails, ski trails, parks and lakes. Central Wisconsin is famous for great skiing. Endless miles of pristine cross-country trails are available, while snowboarding and challenging downhill slopes are found just 15 minutes north of town at Granite Peak in Rib Mountain or Nine Mile.

Take advantage of the multi-acre Mosinee Recreation Center and Park. It provides unsurpassed facilities, athletic sites and play areas. Its large enclosed arena is used for skating, expos, shows and Mosinee Hockey Association hockey games. The Badger State Games and other hockey and figure skating competitions are hosted at the Mosinee Recreation Center’s ice rink facilities. The park also hosts the Mosinee Softball Field, home to the Mosinee Alumni Softball. The annual Mosinee Alumni Softball tournament is held each August. Join in with a team to honor your class or stop in to cheer them on.
One of the most beautiful Wisconsin golf courses, our own Mosinee Indianhead Golf Course, is right here in town. Golfers of all skill levels delight in this course. Adjacent to the Central Wisconsin Business Park, the 18-hole championship Indianhead Golf Course will challenge you as it gently bends and breaks amidst quiet woods and lazy streams. The Chamber Greater Mosinee Golf Open (GMO) is held every August and we welcome you to spend the day with the Chamber.
