In fact, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has noted that New Berlin schools “exceed” or “significantly exceed” expectations when it comes to core competencies on state assessments. Additionally, upward of 97.5 percent of the district’s high school students graduate.

The School District of New Berlin is composed of four elementary schools and two combined middle and high schools. There are more than 4,440 students in all, and the student-to-teacher ratio is 16-to-1 at most schools. (A small section of New Berlin is serviced by the Elmbrook/Brookfield and the West Allis-West Milwaukee School Districts.) Best yet, students get to explore their passions in the sciences, fine arts and humanities. Many also take Advanced Placement courses and get involved with STEM and other academic programs.

New Berlin has its share of accredited private schools in the area, too. Such schools include Heritage Christian School, Holy Apostles Catholic Grade School and Star of Bethlehem Lutheran School.

Older students can continue career exploration at local technical schools, such as Milwaukee Area Technical College and Waukesha County Technical College.
