Elk City Public School District
The accomplishments of the Elk City Public School District are a source of great pride for Elk City and the surrounding community. The people here strongly value education and support a public system that pursues excellence in all aspects. Over the past two years many improvements have been made; including a new elementary school, state of the art lighting and track at the Big Elk Stadium, new weight training facility, and upgrades to the agriculture farm and horticulture program. The school’s mission is to develop an educational program that will motivate and allow students to identify and achieve their highest potentials in academics, sports, music and the arts. The Elk City School District is comprised of four sites; Elk City High School, Elk City Middle School, Elk City Intermediate School and Elk City Elementary School.

Southwestern Oklahoma State University
Southwestern Oklahoma State University, a four-year accredited college with an outstanding school of pharmacy, is just 40 minutes east of Elk City. The university’s Sayre Campus is just 15 minutes to the west of Elk City. Western Technology Center has three locations in Burns Flat, Sayre and the newest campus in Elk City.
Pioneer Center
Elk City’s Pioneer Center is a state-of-the-art sports facility and houses the Kelli O’Hara Center of Performing Arts Theater as well as Elk City High School band and chorus rehearsal facilities. Serving Elk City and the surrounding area, the Pioneer Center annually hosts over 100 school and community events.
The Kelli O’Hara Center of Performing Arts Theater annually presents its concert series boasting world-class and family-friendly entertainment for patrons from all walks of life. Completed in 2008, the center features an over 1,800-seat sports arena and a 1,000-seat theater and is one of the premiere venues of its kind between Oklahoma City and Amarillo, Texas.
