Fresno County has a population of about a million people, which gives us a wealth of entertainment, and cultural riches can be found right in town or within the immediate region. Fresno is filled with many family-friendly attractions, including the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, Rotary Storyland & Playland and two water parks (one with the largest wave pool in California). There are multiple family-fun centers, escape rooms, bowling alleys, trampoline parks, BMX parks and skate parks. Other attractions are the Discovery Center and Forestiere Underground Gardens.

The region is also proud to share its agricultural roots and small-town values and now showcases many farm tours and farm stores, as well as a series of annual events that include old-fashioned hometown festivals, rodeos, cultural celebrations and the largest harvest fair in California.

Sports enthusiasts – whether playing or watching – will find an ample list of sporting events in the Fresno area. Fresno Chaffee Zoo is the only zoo serving the San Joaquin Valley. With more than 700,000 visitors annually, the zoo offers guests the opportunity to interact and learn about animals from around the world. Thousands of children take field trips to the zoo and many receive guided interpretive tours by the zoo docent volunteers who give an amazing 30,000+ hours to the zoo each year. Fresno Chaffee Zoo is a conservation organization with programs around the world that are diverse and growing. The zoo actively participates in conservation projects in the greater metropolitan area, is a community leader and resource for conservation and environmental education, participates with various zoological programs for all species housed at the zoo, participates with zoos in worldwide strategies for wildlife conservation and actively pursues higher standards for conservation of nature.
