Just 16 miles from Sierra Vista is Tombstone, “The Town Too Tough to Die,” where the infamous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral won a place in the history books in 1881. The site of the notorious shoot-out can still be visited today, along with other well-known attractions like the Crystal Palace Saloon, Big Nose Kate’s Saloon and the Birdcage Theater, said to be one of the most haunted places in the region.
Today, visitors are invited to walk the streets once home to legendary men and women of the American West. Cowboys and gunfighters still roam the streets and guests will step back in time as they wander the boardwalks.
