Millions of vehicles pass through Midland via Interstate 20 every year, and the Midland Information & Travel Center is now the first impression travelers have of a wonderful community and region. The George & Gladys Hanger Abell Midland Information & Travel Center — at Exit 136 off I-20 — advances West Texas with instructive displays and tourism guidance. Exhibits on the rise of oil, ranching and transportation offer samples of the history of many of the families and individuals who played a notable role in area development. Visitors receive information on accommodations, restaurants, shopping and attractions. The Midland Information & Travel Center is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
