Dear Neighbors,
Crown Point is a progressive city that cherishes it’s rich and colorful history. It is the ideal community to live, work, and play. Residents and guests can enjoy gourmet award winning dining, an unparalleled unique shopping experience with year-round attractions, and events for the whole family.
Known as the “Hub” of Lake County, Crown Point is the home to nearly thirty thousand people. The city boasts a beautiful historic downtown that features magnificent architecture, indoor and outdoor dining options, and charming shopping experiences. Crown Point also offers a high demand housing market and one of the best school districts in the state. Those factors help the city to continue to be named “Best Place to Live” as well as “Best Downtown” for the last decade, by The Times and Shore Magazine readers in the annual “Best of the Region” contest.
Our historical heritage boasts many noted landmarks such as the Old Lake County Courthouse, the Wellington A. Clark Old Homestead, the Old Sheriff’s House, and the former Lake County Jail that underwent filming for the Universal Pictures’ “Public Enemies”.
It is with appreciation for our past that we make great strides towards the future. This comes with the completion of the Sportsplex on North Street, the Sparta Dome, and Legacy Fields at Center Ross Park which includes the addition of the very first dog park in the City. In 2019 a downtown event center on S West Street called “Bulldog Park” will be fully open so we can host our special events, concerts, plays, festivals, winter skating, and much more!
We hope that you enjoy a vast array of our family events as Crown Point is working daily to “Build a Stronger Community from Within.”
You can find all our events listed here and on our website at www.crownpoint.in.gov.
Sincerely,
David D.F. Uran
Mayor
