Welcome to Mount Pleasant

The Village of Mount Pleasant would like to welcome you to our community. We are proud to bring you this Community Guide as a reference for all things Mount Pleasant. Founded in 2003, the Village of Mount Pleasant is conveniently located on the western shore of Lake Michigan in Racine County and consists of 35 square miles and a population of over 26,000 residents. Stretching from Lake Michigan to I-94, Mount Pleasant offers easy access to larger metropolitan areas. Milwaukee is 20 miles to the north, and Chicago is 60 miles to the south.

Through insight and vision we have had significant growth over the last ten years in retail, industrial, and residential development. Mount Pleasant is one of the fastest developing communities in southeastern Wisconsin and our prime location augments us for continued growth. As a village, we look to continue this pattern in the coming years.

Mount Pleasant is a vibrant community and offers ample opportunities for outdoor recreational activities. We are committed to maintaining a high quality of life for our residents. The village has 12 exceptional parks totaling over 400 acres of parkland for residents to enjoy year round. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy our 5.5 mile recreational trail stretching along the Pike River and miles of bike lanes in the area. Our proximity to Lake Michigan and the Root River makes us an excellent location for those who enjoy water activities.

An ideal location, a progressive attitude and a hometown feel are a few of the outstanding qualities that make Mount Pleasant a great place to live and visit. Whether you are here for a short visit or a long-term stay, we look forward to helping you make Mount Pleasant your own.
