Dayton VA Medical Center
The Dayton VA Medical Center has been serving our nation’s heroes for more than 150 years. A national historic landmark, the Dayton VAMC is home to the Historic Grotto and Healing Gardens and a chapel originally designed and built by Civil War veterans, a new state-of-the-art Fisher House for veterans’ family members and a new food pantry dedicated to serving the needs of the veteran today. In recognition of this unique blend between honoring our historic status and utilizing technological advances to march into tomorrow, the Dayton VA has been selected as the future home of the National VA History Center, where visitors will be able to learn about more than a century’s worth of advancements in the field of providing medical care to those who wore the uniform – while veterans will be able to use the recording studio to share their own personal story of military service to be enjoyed by generations to come.
