Lea Regional Medical Center
Lea Regional Medical Center opened its doors in 1974 and has been providing quality care to the residents of Lea County for over 40 years. LRMC is licensed for more than 200 beds and offers: cardiac care, dialysis services, general and outpatient surgery, laboratory services, radiological services, emergency department services, a skilled nursing facility, behavioral health unit, and women’s services (labor and delivery as well as gynecological care). In 2014 LRMC earned the Joint Commission’s Accreditation for Chest Pain Center; one of only eight hospitals in the State of New Mexico. In 2015, LRMC became the first and remains the only hospital in the State of New Mexico to earn the Joint Commission accreditation in Heart Failure. LRMC is also a certified Stroke Center. In 2017, Lea Regional Medical Center opened a cardiac catheterization laboratory and offers: interventional and emergency cardiology services, coronary stents, nuclear stress test, holter monitors, pacemaker insertions and peripheral vascular intervention.
Nor-Lea Hospital District
Nor-Lea Hospital District is a nonprofit, community-based health care organization that owns and operates Nor-Lea Medical Clinics; Nor-Lea Professional Physicians Center; Nor-Lea Cancer Center; Nor-Lea Home Medical and Nor-Lea General Hospital, a 25-bed Medicare-certified facility.
Nor-Lea Hospital District currently employs more than 400 full-time and part-time, well qualified and loyal individuals to meet the needs of healthcare in our community. These employees are proud to offer quality care with a community atmosphere for good customer service delivered with respect and dignity.
Nor-Lea General Hospital has an average daily census of 7.5 combined inpatient and observation stays. Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and private pay are accepted for services rendered. The emergency room is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. About 900 individuals utilize this service per month.
Presbyterian Medical Services
PMS – Hobbs Family Health Center has been serving Hobbs and the surrounding area since 2007. The health center provides primary care services for adults and children, including immunizations, acute illness care, preventive medicine, family planning, breast and cervical cancer screening, prescriptions, chronic illness care (diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma, etc.) and laboratory services. Hobbs Family Health Center is a member of Presbyterian Medical Services’ statewide network of community-based health centers, working to serve the diverse populations of New Mexico providing quality, affordable health care. The health center accepts Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurance and, for the uninsured, a sliding fee scale is available.
Hobbs Family Health Center staff includes Dr. Lenard Wagner, medical director; and Barbara Nylene Hafer and Yadira Sanchez, nurse practitioners.
