Anchored by a 333-bed acute care center in historic downtown St. Charles, SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – St. Charles has been caring for local families for more than 130 years. The facility has been designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center and a Level II Trauma Center. It continues to expand and enhance services, recruit outstanding physicians and caregivers, and upgrade its physical space to provide an exceptional patient experience.
To achieve its goal of providing convenient, efficient and personalized care, SSM Health is actively engaged in developing innovative ways to partner with patients to manage and achieve individual health and wellness goals. The newly opened SSM Health Outpatient Center at 711 Veterans Memorial Pkwy. allows for easy access to primary and specialty health care services, including an urgent care clinic and advanced imaging services. It also provides a home for specialists in internal medicine, pediatrics, endocrinology and SSM Health Physical Therapy. Additionally, there’s an outpatient laboratory, retail pharmacy, education center and a café.
Similar SSM Health Outpatient Centers are located in St. Peters (1475 Kisker Rd.) and Wentzville (1598 W. Meyer Rd.). So no matter where you’re located in the county, there’s a facility close by equipped to accommodate patients’ outpatient needs.
To meet the growing health care demands of western St. Charles County, SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – Lake Saint Louis was established in 1986. This 200-bed acute care hospital is a leading market provider of emergency and obstetric services. It recently completed a significant expansion project consisting of the construction of a patient tower and outpatient services center. The three-floor, 75,000-square-foot tower adds 84 patient beds, a dialysis center and a physical therapy gym. The outpatient facility features expanded laboratory services, nuclear medicine and cardiovascular procedure rooms, a larger pharmacy and extra parking.
Complementing these two acute care hospitals is SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – Wentzville. The facility houses a 24-hour emergency department and is primarily dedicated to inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services. It is licensed for 77 inpatient behavioral health beds.
