Today, New Eastside supports a community of 11,000 residents and 45,000 people who work in the area and draws thousands of tourists and visitors to the shopping and dining complex Lakeshore East Village Market.
On the horizon, the third tallest tower in Chicago will rise in New Eastside in 2019. Named the Wanda Vista Tower, it will be a combination of hotel and condominiums. An additional high rise hotel is planned for the empty lot at 201 N. Columbus Dr. Five sites remain open for development in New Eastside and a public school is part of the master plan for the area.

Several organizations have worked to help integrate the neighborhood and foster a sense of community.
New Eastside Community

New Eastside Association of Residents

The current developer of Lakeshore East is also the sponsor of many community events.
