Skokie’s Spring Greening
The ever-popular Skokie’s Spring Greening kicks off a season of fun. The event promotes sustainable and green living. It features a cycling event and indoor fair. Visitors shop for green products and repurposed crafts.
MAY
Skokie Festival of Cultures
Since its inception in 1991, the event has become one of the premier ethnic festivals in the state. More
than 38,000 visitors each year enjoy two days of ethnic folk music and dance, international foods, children’s games, eclectic art, a merchandise bazaar and dozens of cultural booths.
JUNE
Wednesdays on the Green
Free festivities begin at 7 p.m. from June to August. Enjoy an open-air venue, music and children’s programs.
JULY
North Shore Festival of Art
More than 90,000 art lovers converge in Skokie for this festival of fine artwork, live music and more. The event is organized by Special Event Management and benefits the Skokie Chamber.
AUGUST
Skokie’s Backlot Bash
This event features live music, an amusement park, 5K run and silent movies. Additionally there is a classic auto show, business expo and sidewalk sale.
ALL SUMMER LONG
Skokie’s Farmers Market
Located at 5127 Oakton St., Skokie’s Farmers Market runs from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sundays from June through the first Sunday of November. For more than 25 years, the market has featured seasonal produce, flowers, cheeses, baked goods and many more items.
Fall
Taste of Skokie Valley
Flavors of Skokie’s finest restaurants will tempt visitors at this affair. The celebration of gourmet food is a charitable event benefiting various community causes.
