The Sycamore Chamber annually recognizes exceptional Chamber Member Businesses and Organizations. The four awards are; Outstanding Business of the Year, Outstanding Small Business, Discover Diamond and Chamber Champion. These awards are given out at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting in January, in front of over 350 community business people.

DeKalb Sycamore Chevrolet GMC Buick Cadillac clearly exemplifies the definition of the Sycamore Chamber’s Outstanding Business of the Year award. This award is given to a member business that demonstrates integrity in the way they do business, positively influences the economic vitality of our community, employs over 31 individuals, and shows passion for the Sycamore community. Since the day they opened their doors in Sycamore they have dedicated themselves to making Sycamore a great place to live and work.
DeKalb Sycamore Chevrolet GMC Buick Cadillac has supported various community organizations since it moved to Sycamore in 2012. They host a DeKalb County First Responder Lunch once a month, contribute money from its annual car show to Wounded Worriers, host a safe trick or treat in October that draws over 1000 children for the area, they contribute time and money to Sycamore Schools, donate to Sycamore Girls Softball, and contribute to many of our local non-profits, just to name a few. And more recently they donated a minivan to Safe Passage.
Ryan Gilleland, executive general manager for the dealership at 1925 Mercantile Drive in Sycamore, accepted the award on behalf of the dealership. “I will do anything possible for the community that has done so much for us,” Gilleland said.
“They are an integral business partner and resource for us at the Sycamore Chamber. Besides their strong involvement and support of Sycamore Businesses, they also contribute and support many of our non-profits and community organizations,” said Chamber Executive Director Rose Treml.

Tom & Jerry’s of Sycamore Featuring Catering by Diann has been an indispensable resource for the community and the Chamber since 2002 when Diann Beaulieu bought the restaurant. She and her team have helped to fundraise and support many of our non-profits, including; Opportunity House, Hope Haven, Sycamore Youth Softball, Special Olympics, as well as monthly
“no cook” nights for many other community organizations.
This award honors member businesses that historically demonstrate outstanding contributions to our community,
has less than 31 employees, and helps to make Sycamore a great place to live, work and play.

“DeKalb County Forest Preserve and the Sycamore Forest Preserve Receive the Chamber’s 2019 Discover Diamond Award”
The Discover Diamond Award is given to a Sycamore Chamber Member that has made significant improvement(s) to their business or business location that truly benefits the entire Sycamore community.
The DeKalb County Forest Preserve District recently celebrated the opening of the Sycamore Forest Preserve. This sixty-acre preserve at 955 East State Street in Sycamore, is now a beautiful, purposeful green space where residents and visitors will enjoy for years. The revitalization was made possible through the vision of the County Board, City of Sycamore Officials, and the County
Forest Preserve. The Preserve is the trailhead of the Great Western Trail, with hiking and cross-country ski trails, picnic areas, a fishing pond and two shelter houses.
