Harwood Heights-Norridge IL Digital Publication

Chamber President’s Welcome

The Harwood Heights-Norridge Chamber of Commerce is proud to present its annual community guide. This guide is a valuable resource for finding local businesses, schools, churches, organizations and governmental services in the area. It is also valuable to our members for reaching customers, promoting their business and supporting the Chamber and community. The Chamber boasts over 100 members. This year promises to be exciting with even more events to plan, and special guest speakers at Chamber meetings.

Together, the Chamber and its members strive to provide opportunities to network with other business owners, to improve business conditions and to give back to the community through scholarship opportunities and sponsorships of local events. We also strive to advocate for our businesses within the villages and with our elected officials. However, this is only possible through the time and participation of its members. To those businesses and organizations who are already members of the chamber – thank you for your support. For those in the community who want to know what we are about, please attend a meeting or networking event on me.

I would like to take this opportunity to give special thanks to the Chamber’s returning officers: Mark Fritsch of People’s Home Equity Mortgage, Warner DeJulio, owner of 312 Communications, Inc. and Jerry Kochowicz, branch manager of Wintrust Bank Norridge. I would like to welcome our new officer, Katherine O’Dell of Amari & Locallo.

For those of you who have not yet joined, please take this as a personal invitation to come to a meeting and see for yourself what the Chamber can do for your business. Hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,

Julia Jensen Smolka

Norridge Mayor’s Welcome

Dear Residents,

The Village of Norridge is only two square miles in area and has almost 15,000 residents. The Village of Norridge’s proximity to Chicago and all the expressways makes it an outstanding location for businesses and residents alike.

Norridge remains a great place to live and raise your family. The village completed a major expansion at the Harlem Irving Plaza. Target and K-Mart feature produce areas in their stores to give residents more shopping options.

The Village of Norridge is driven heavily by its sales tax revenue, which makes up more than 70 percent of its annual revenue. I am committed to developing available properties and bringing new jobs to the village.

So after this long winter, take a couple of shopping days and support the local retailers and help keep your real estate taxes and local fees the lowest in the state.

Sincerely yours,

James Chmura
