Where is Alhambra


Alhambra is easily accessible from major local freeways, the I-10 (San Bernardino Freeway) and the SR-710 (Long Beach Freeway). Major city thoroughfares include Main Street, Valley Boulevard, Huntington Drive, Fremont Avenue, Atlantic Boulevard and Garfield Avenue.

City transportation

Senior/disabled transportation

Senior Ride is a free transportation service for senior riders age 60 or older, and the disabled of any age. Curb-to-curb transportation is offered throughout the city for any purpose and up to two miles beyond city limits for medical appointments only. Registration is accepted with a photo ID at the Joslyn Adult Recreation Center, 210 N. Chapel Ave. Information about Senior Ride is available at the Joslyn Center, or by calling (626) 570-5056.

Other local and regional transportation systems

Riders can connect with other local and regional transportation systems, including the Montebello Bus Line and Metro bus and rail system, as well as the Metro Gold Line. While the ACT bus can take riders to destinations within city limits, the Metro Bus/Rail system can take them to points beyond. The Gold Line, which connects to the Metro Red Line, offers a convenient means to make connections to various Southland locations to and from Alhambra. Metro bus stops in Alhambra include:

  • Metro Bus Line 76/376: Eastbound/Westbound – Stops at Valley and Garfield with connections to/from the cities of Los Angeles, Lincoln Heights, Rosemead and El Monte
  • Metro Bus Line 176: Eastbound/Westbound (Monday-Friday only) – Stops at Main and Garfield with connections to/from the cities of Glassel Park, Highland Park, South Pasadena (Mission and Fair Oaks), San Gabriel, Rosemead and El Monte.
  • Metro Bus Line 256: Northbound (Monday-Friday only) – Stops at Commonwealth and Fremont, and Bay State St. and Garfield, with connections from the cities of Paramount Southgate, Bell Gardens, Commerce and East L.A.
  • Metro Bus Lines 260/361: Northbound/Southbound – Stops at Huntington at Atlantic with connections to/from the cities of Compton, Lynwood, Maywood, East L.A., Monterey Park, Pasadena and Altadena.
