Community Living

With its first settlers calling the area home all the way back in 1664, Woodbridge has been an excellent place to live for 350 years. Ten communities make up the township that is Woodbridge – Avenel, Colonia, Fords, Menlo Park Terrace, Port Reading, Sewaran, Hopelawn, Iselin, Keasbey and Woodbridge Proper. Each community maintains its own distinct character while still fitting together to create a unified Woodbridge Township.

Life in Woodbridge is the perfect combination of small town and big city. Peaceful, suburban neighborhoods are ideal for raising a family or relaxing in retirement, and the plentiful businesses and excellent highway system make it easy to both work and play close to home.

Housing options are available for most every preference and price range. Public housing buildings, apartments, condominiums, single-family homes and extensive estates can all be found throughout Woodbridge’s 10 communities.

Senior living options are also abundant. The Woodbridge Housing Authority provides affordable and public housing for seniors, and there are several independent and assisted living facilities in the area.
