Serving residents of central New Jersey for more than 50 years, Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Medical Center offers a complete array of advanced services in its 498-bed facility in Edison. With more than 1,000 affiliated physicians, this academic medical center offers a complete spectrum of advanced services including general and specialized surgery, cardiac care, maternity and pediatrics, oncology, imaging, breast center, sleep center, wound care, robotic surgery, emergency medicine, weight loss surgery, radiology, long-term care and assisted living. JFK Medical Center is home to the nationally-recognized Neuroscience Institute, one of New Jersey’s most comprehensive programs for the diagnosis and treatment of brain, spine and nervous system disorders. The Institute offers one of the largest and most specialized clinical teams in the state, dedicated to discoveries and research making it a world-renowned leader in the field of neuroscience research and advancement. It is the first in New Jersey to be designated a comprehensive stroke center by the Joint Commission and has the only teaching program in New Jersey offering an advanced comprehensive combined fellowship in vascular neurology, neuro critical care and endovascular surgical neuroradiology.

JFK Medical Center has been designated a HeartCARE Center by the American College of Cardiology for its comprehensive, high quality cardiac culture and is the only hospital in the state with this distinction. It has received prestigious international recognition as a designated Baby-Friendly birth facility, the only Baby-Friendly medical center in Middlesex county and Central New Jersey.

JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute/Hackensack Meridian Health

Offering New Jersey’s most comprehensive physical rehabilitation services, the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute is a 94-bed facility in Edison  that has served residents of the tristate area for more than 40 years. Its mission is simple: provide quality rehabilitation for adults and children living with disabilities to obtain optimal function and independence. JFK Johnson Rehabilitation has developed programs in specialties that include brain injury, stroke rehabilitation, orthopedics/musculoskeletal and sports injuries, fitness, cardiac rehabilitation, women’s health, pediatrics and a prosthetics and orthotics lab.

It is accredited by both the Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities in its inpatient rehabilitation adult program, inpatient rehabilitation adult brain injury specialty program, stroke specialty program, interdisciplinary outpatient medical rehabilitation, adult brain injury specialty program and comprehensive vocational evaluation services. The facility is licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Hospital.

JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute serves as the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department of the Hackensack Meridian Medical School at Seton Hall University and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy/Hackensack Meridian Health

For more than 100 years, Raritan Bay Medical Center Perth Amboy has provided a full spectrum of health care services to residents of central New Jersey. This 395-bed licensed general medical and surgical acute-care hospital offers services including critical care, cardiovascular, pre- and post-surgery, maternity (including a Level II special care nursery and a designation as a safe sleep unit) and maternal-fetal medicine, diagnostic imaging and mammography, adult inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, physical therapy and rehabilitation.
