Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As your Cook County Commissioner and a decades long resident of Elmwood Park, I am very excited to see our commercial areas thriving and welcoming new businesses into our villages. Additionally, we should be proud of our long time small businesses that continue to benefit our communities. Many of these business owners are residents of our towns and not only provide valued services, but actively participate in our civic, religious and school functions. They coach sports, they are PTA members, they belong and support to our churches. They are our neighbors and our friends.
When we work together with our business owners, local government and residents, we will continue to draw people from neighboring areas to enjoy all that Elmwood Park and River Grove have to offer. We will continue to sustain our healthy home values and provide quality education to our children.
As we see so many of the store chains that we grew up with closing their doors, we need to support our neighbors by patronizing their establishments and businesses. As a resident, I am happy to frequent our local businesses and as your Cook County Commissioner, I will keep on working in the best interests of local commerce and the residents of the 9th County District.
Wishing you all a prosperous, healthy and happy 2019.
Very truly yours,
Peter N. Silvestri
Cook County Commissioner, 9th District
