Edmond Public Schools
Edmond Public Schools (EPS) is an award-winning district. With the mission, “empowering all students to succeed in a changing society,” Edmond Public Schools strive to develop lifelong learners. Serving more than 25,240 students and employing more than 3,000 people, the schools make a major impact in the community. Edmond Public Schools began in 1922 and have grown to be nationally recognized since. Eleven Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence are in Edmond, which is the most of any district in the state of Oklahoma.
Twenty-five high school seniors from Edmond Public Schools have been named 2018 National Merit Semifinalists – a designation that places them in the top 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors. The prestigious scholastic competition recognizes students for academic success in the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.6 million entrants each year. Edmond’s Semifinalists include 13 from Edmond North High School, seven from Edmond Memorial High School and five from Santa Fe High School. Edmond had the most semifinalists of any public or private school district in Oklahoma. Edmond’s overall high school graduation rate is at 98.2 percent, with 85 percent of Edmond students reporting that they plan on attending college.
The school district offers 36 advanced placement classes. In spring 2018, students passed a total of 2,512 AP tests. Edmond students average a composite score of 23.6 on the ACT, well above the state and national average. In addition, Edmond Public Schools has been named to the Oklahoman’s Top Workplaces list in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
Deer Creek
Deer Creek is known for its community-centered atmosphere, excellent staff, strong parental involvement and focus on the growth of students both academically and personally. Deer Creek is the one of the top school districts in the State of Oklahoma and is proud of the many student accomplishments that occur each year. Deer Creek is expected to have approximately 6,232 students for the 2018-19 school year. The District is 72 square miles and includes portions of three counties: Oklahoma, Logan and Canadian.
Private Schools
For families looking into additional choices for quality education, Edmond is home to numerous private, parochial and Christian schools as well, with many offering a kindergarten through 12th-grade education. St. Mary’s Episcopal School, Oklahoma Christian School, Oklahoma Christian Academy, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School are all located within Edmond.
University of Central Oklahoma
Founded in 1890, the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) provided the first institution of higher education in the state. Situated on a beautiful 210-acre campus, UCO is Oklahoma’s largest metropolitan university with an enrollment of over 16,000 students and six colleges; Business; Education and Professional Studies; Fine Arts and Design; Liberal Arts; Mathematics and Science; and the Joe C. Jackson College of Graduate Studies and Research. Within the six colleges, UCO offers 121 undergraduate majors and 76 graduate programs. UCO brings a lot to the Edmond community, including the notable UCO Jazz Lab, W. Roger Webb Forensic Science Institute and the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM@UCO). In 2018, the university held a grand opening for the Donald Betz STEM Research and Learning Center. The center will serve as an interdisciplinary hub for the university’s various science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs. Classes in the new building will begin in January 2019.

Known as one of the premier technology centers in the nation, Francis Tuttle Technology Center is assisting in leading a strong, nationwide resurgence of career-focused, technical training. Francis Tuttle offers training and consulting that is personalized for businesses in nearly any category. Among national models offered at Francis Tuttle are the Engineering, Biosciences and Medicine and Computer Science academies, as well as the Advanced Manufacturing Center. These and many other programs are available for students interested in a full-time or part-time schedule to enhance long-term career outlooks and serve highly-skilled employee needs of area businesses.
Francis Tuttle’s Career Development and Personal Enrichment classes enhance career skills through continuing education or personal interest, and are offered at the new Business Innovation Center, 2824 Progressive Dr., at the northeast corner of Interstate 35 and Covell Road.

Oklahoma Christian University
Oklahoma Christian University welcomes you to Edmond! OC is a private, liberal arts university sitting on the border of Oklahoma City and Edmond.
