To meet the demands of the growing community, the hospital embarked on a $100 million expansion and renovation project. The centerpiece of the project is the construction of a three-story tower that includes a new emergency department, expanded Level II neonatal intensive care unit and additional inpatient beds and operating rooms.
A new, state-of-the-art outpatient center at 1677 W. Baker Rd. offers comprehensive outpatient services in one convenient location. The new facility includes the Breast Care Center, Clinical Training Center, imaging (MRI, CT scan, ultrasound and X-ray), laboratory services, Occupational Health Clinic, Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, physical and occupational therapy, Primary Care Clinic and outpatient surgical services. Houston Methodist Cancer Center at Baytown also opened a new outpatient infusion center providing comprehensive infusion services, from chemotherapy to blood transfusions. The cancer center is home to an experienced, specialized team of oncologists, radiation oncologists and oncology nurses to help navigate the cancer journey.
The care team provides services ranging from prevention and diagnosis to advanced treatment follow-up and survivorship. The cancer program also offers screenings, educational events, support groups, clinical trial access and genetic testing close to home.
