A strong business community is key to the overall health of the Village. A strong business community is good business for all of us. Shopping locally is an easy and effective way to support our community. Research shows that nearly $7 of every $10 spent on local business is reinvested into the community. Shopping locally supports local jobs and contributes over $5 million in taxes and fees, which offsets the Village’s reliance on property taxes. Shop locally, and make your sales tax work for you!
It’s easy to shop locally. Streamwood is home to over 600 businesses, ranging from traditional entrepreneurs to international corporations. Streamwood is the proud home of Fresh Express, Shared Imaging, Rydin Decal and Ace Coffee Service, to name a few of our large industrial users, who provide jobs and resources to the community. We also have a very healthy commercial sector with Super Target, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Value City Department Store, Jewel-Osco and Fiesta Market anchoring large commercial shopping centers.
The Village also makes it easy to shop locally by providing a business listing online and by supporting our Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber helps to make individuals aware of the activities, services and businesses available in our area. This stimulates the local economy while enhancing, supporting and promoting the prosperity of its members. For more information on our local business community, visit our website and click on our Shop Streamwood! logo at www.streamwood.org.
Your continued support, for our local businesses and our community at large, is a key asset to our community’s strength. I encourage you to continue this commitment and look forward to working with you for the continued improvement of our town.
Sincerely,
Billie D. Roth
Village President
