As we continue to celebrate 130 years of River Grove, what a year my first year as Mayor of this beautiful town has been. I am happy to say that the Village of River Grove is thriving and continuing to build for the future. This past year we have welcomed several new businesses to town as well as new developments, and a brand-new website – www.rivergroveil.gov.
Safety continues to be one of our top priorities. The village has purchased a brand-new fire engine as well as several new vehicles to add to our aging fleet of police and public works vehicles. This past January River Grove welcomed a new payroll system and a new benefits program to provide more efficiencies for our employees. All this while trying to be mindful of cost and budget constraints. I am so very proud of our village board for their work and commitment to making River Grove a village that we can all take pride in.
Starting this spring, the village in conjunction with the River Grove Beautification Committee entered into a street scaping program for all of Grand Avenue in River Grove. You will see updated planters, beautiful seasonal flowers and decorations throughout the year, continuing to make the Grand Corridor a place we can all be proud of.
We have many initiatives on the horizon, updating our parks, bringing back the River Front Fest, Grand and Thatcher development, infrastructure improvements and much more.
