Welcome to St. Joseph

The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce has a long-standing tradition of being the catalyst for economic development and growth in Northwest Missouri. Since the founding members started the Board of Trade of St. Joseph in 1862, there has been a united group of leaders standing up for the business community.

While business is the Chamber’s top priority, its leaders know that industry and commerce can only succeed in a growing, viable community. The Chamber’s mission is to “create an environment that allows business to thrive and the community to prosper.”

Driven by the needs and concerns of our members andthe community, the Chamber has five overall priorities that support its mission: participate in the success of its members; sustain community collaborations and build partnerships; secure resources necessary to pursue its mission; enhance the community’s economic prosperity; and advocate for business.

These priorities could not be accomplished without the work of two of the Chamber’s divisions – membership and economic development. Each area is instrumental in sustaining quality of life and making St. Joseph a great place to live and work.

The Chamber is concerned with a host of issues, but a common thread runs throughout the organization – a commitment to providing first-rate programs and services for the benefit of members and the community. While the staff is a hard-working group, the Chamber could not succeed without its dedicated volunteers, who help staff achieve these goals and fulfill its mission.

Chamber membership is an investment – an investment of money and time that can help businesses succeed and the community prosper. The more time members spend attending Chamber events, networking with other members and learning at business-related educational sessions, the better their businesses can become.
