Why Romeoville

Romeoville’s location provides excellent accessibility to highway, rail, water shipping and air transportation. Romeoville is conveniently located along the Stevenson Expressway (I-55), with direct access at Weber Road and Joliet Road. Additional major thoroughfares include the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355) and the Tri-State Tollway (I-294). Both major Chicago airports are conveniently located with O’Hare International Airport being just 30 miles away, and Midway Airport 20 miles away.

Located in Romeoville, the Lewis University Airport (KLOT) is owned and operated by the Joliet Regional Port District. The airport provides commercial, industrial, institutional and personal aviation services to Will County, and also serves as a general aviation reliever for O’Hare and Midway airports.

The airport offers a number of amenities including aircraft storage, corporate flight department/ hangar leasing, pilot’s lounge, conference room and for the general public, a helicopter shuttle service to and from Chicagoland Speedway.

The Village of Romeoville remains proactive in addressing transportation needs. Romeoville has always been known for its attractive location. What is even more attractive is Romeoville’s ongoing commitment to improve existing routes and secure additional modes of transportation for residents and businesses, such as the new Metra station on 135th, that was recently expanded even more since its original completion. Construction has started for a “diverging diamond” interchange at Weber Road and I-55. This project includes the widening of Weber Road from 135th Street to 119th Street. Improvements will help to address future needs along the Weber Road Corridor.
