Government

Mount Pleasant operates with a Board/Administrator form of government. The Village Board consists of a president and six trustees, each elected to their positions on an at-large, part-time basis with two-year staggered terms. The Village Board sets the budget, enacts local ordinances, appoints committees and provides oversight to all services provided by the Village of Mount Pleasant.

The Village Administrator is appointed by the Village Board and serves as Chief Executive Officer. The Administrator manages day-to-day activities of the 179 village employees and administers the policies set forth by the Board. Numerous commissions and boards are composed of civic-minded residents and business leaders who volunteer their time and expertise, as they study issues of interest and make recommendations to the board.

Village Board meetings are held every second and fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. These meetings are held at the Mount Pleasant Village Hall at 8811 Campus Dr. For more information, to become involved, or for meeting minutes, visit www.mtpleasantwi.gov.
