Assessor
The Assessor’s Office is responsible for the discovery, listing and valuation of all taxable property in the Village of Mount Pleasant including residential, commercial, agricultural and personal property.
Questions regarding a property’s estimated value should be directed to the Village Assessor.
Building Inspection
The Building Department provides an examination of all construction projects throughout the village for both residential and commercial. Inspections are governed and enforced by state codes and village ordinances.
Building permits are required for nearly all types of improvements to your home including, but not limited to: sheds, decks, pools and garages. Visit the village website for information on how to obtain a permit.
Clerk/Treasurer
The Clerk/Treasurer Department is the gateway to open government. The department is responsible for the support and administration of the Village Board meetings and minutes, collection of taxes and other funds due to the village, issuance of various business, personal and pet licenses. The Clerk/Treasurer also ensures the proper coordination of a secure and transparent election process.

Community Development
The Community Development Department performs a variety of services intended to protect, maintain, and develop an orderly, attractive, safe and economically healthy community. Primary functions of the department include managing property development and land use activities within the village, and the attraction and retention of businesses.
Engineering & Sewer
The Engineering Department handles all engineering elements of development in the village including reviews for ordinance and engineering compliance, road maintenance planning and plumbing related permits. The Sewer Utility Department installs and maintains sanitary sewer lines throughout the village. Visit the village website for information regarding sewer utility bills and payments.
Finance
The Finance Department prepares the budget, processes payroll and manages all accounts payable/receivable functions. In addition, the Finance Department prepares, examines and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Municipal Court
The Municipal Court Office handles thousands of cases per year involving municipal ordinances violations and traffic violations that occur within the village. The court has exclusive jurisdiction over all traffic citations and municipal ordinance violations that occur within the village. The court also has jurisdiction over various juvenile citations. Parks & Recreation
The village operates 12 parks totaling over 400 acres of parkland and an additional 300 acres along the Pike River Pathway offering a wide variety of recreations activities. Parks contain playgrounds, baseball diamonds, walking trails, shelters and picnic facilities. The village offers reservations for shelter rentals at several of the parks. Public Works
The Public Works Department provides public services for the convenience and safety of residents and visitors to the village. Services include: street maintenance, snow and ice control, fleet maintenance and compost center operations.
